3 girls and 1 boy whelped Christmas morning 2011.

As the pictures show, the puppies are a most unusual, rare color for Border Collies. So rare, in fact, we’re not entirely sure just yet what to call them. DNA color testing on one of the puppies is underway. One other litter, whelped in the UK approximately five years ago and dubbed “the Chinchilla litter,” demonstrated this color, and those puppies eventually shed the silver and grew out a mostly solid black coat. For the time being, these cuties are silver with traditional white markings.

This litter has been raised in our home as part of our family, and exposed to early neurological stimulation protocol, as well as all the sights and sounds of a busy household with a toddler member. They will be evaluated for temperament and conformation at 7 weeks, as well as CERF’d and first shots. They are fed Taste of the Wild grain free salmon puppy food.

Puppies are available to experienced performance and/or show homes, either under co-ownership agreement or limited registration. Please contact me for a puppy questionnaire and a copy of the puppy contract. Health clearance certificates are available upon request. Serious inquiries only, please.

Sire: BIS Int’l. Ch., Am GCH Wildblue Tartan Sett MAOM, “Sniper”

Sniper is OFA Hips Good, Elbows Normal, TNS, CL, CEA normal, BEAR normal, CERF clear.

About Sniper: Sniper has had a very successful show career, with multiple regional specialty Select Dog and Awards of Merit, including 2010 National Specialty Award of Merit and National Regional Specialty Select Dog, qualifying him for Crufts. Sniper is now in training for his next career, herding. Sniper stayed with our family for a month while in for breeding, so I had a chance to get to know him. I have seen him many times in the past, asleep under Heather’s chair amidst a busy show, and knew him to be cool and relaxed in a stressful, noisy environment. He became so well-loved in my household for his patience and sweetness that my 2 year old still wants to know where he went. While not an alpha personality, he is a confident, competitive and driven dog in a game, and gets along well with other dogs. He gives good attention and is very willing to please, and works for love, toys or treats, and responds well to a soft correction. He is a delightful dog to be around, and a really nice companion dog I would love to own. From a conformation standpoint Sniper is a moderate, athletic boy of classic type, balanced to the eye, with a lot of dog in a neat, hard package. He is short-coupled and curvy, with lots of angulation fore and aft, and a long, well-set neck. He wears a straight, fairly trim coat of good texture. He has a beautiful head and expression, and his ears are naturally tipped. Thank you Heather Henisey of Powerhouse Border Collies for allowing us to host Sniper, and for a beautiful litter.
